Daypart cap can die before the window ends

How to run thisTraffic3 steps
CalculatorDaypart fill · Calculator lives in the articleOpen

Affiliate daypart caps reset on a window. Mid-window fills can burn the line before the daypart ends. Type cap, fills so far, and hours left.

Pair: Daypart fill on Traffic. Geo day: geo-cap exhaustion. Unused daily: offer cap leftover.

What you type

Daypart cap — written units for that daypart (network / offer sheet).

Fills so far — credited fills against that daypart cap in the same window.

Hours left — hours until the daypart ends (your clock).

Leftover = cap − fills. Filled % = fills ÷ cap. Required pace = leftover ÷ hours left. Raise the daypart or throttle sources before inventing a “normal” fill curve.

What not to do

Do not invent a fill rate. Do not mix all-day fills into one daypart. Do not treat CRM still-selling as proof the daypart has room. Do not ignore hours left when leftover looks fat mid-window.

Related: Traffic, geo-cap exhaustion, offer cap leftover, EPC vs CRM AOV.

Procedure

  1. Type daypart cap, fills so far, and hours left.
  2. Read leftover and required fills/hour.
  3. Raise the daypart or throttle sources when pace is impossible.

Failure modes

  • Inventing a fill rate.
  • Mixing all-day fills into one daypart.
  • Ignoring hours left when leftover looks fat mid-window.

Worked example
