A checkout extensibility or custom step can leak before payment. Drop % = drops ÷ sessions. Stranded $ = drops × AOV. Type sessions, drop at step, and AOV $.

What you type

Sessions — checkout sessions that hit this custom / extensibility step in the window.

Drop at step — of those, how many left at that step before completing payment.

AOV $ — average order value you use to price stranded demand on that step.

Drop % = drops ÷ sessions. Stranded $ = drops × AOV. Fix or remove the step when stranded $ is material — do not invent a drop chip.

What not to do

Do not invent a drop percent. Do not mix cart abandons outside checkout into this step. Do not treat payment declines as custom-step drops without splitting. Do not ignore AOV when comparing two checkout steps.
