Address correction is not a not-received fight

How to run thisChargebacks4 steps
GuideAddress correction — claim map · Calculator lives in the articleOpen

Address correction and bad ship-to are fulfillment hygiene. A carrier correction fee is not a chargeback reason. Not-received still needs a delivered scan to the address on the label. Mixing “they typed it wrong” into a representment without a scan burns the fee.

Pair: Address correction — claim map on Chargebacks. RTS / refused outcomes: refused / RTS vs NR. Delivery-scan gate: WISMO.

The fork

Correction fee on a delivered parcel. Pay or dispute the carrier invoice per contract. The shopper dispute, if any, still needs the scan type on signature vs porch / WISMO.

Bad address, never delivered. Refund or reship to a verified address. Watch for RTS. Do not fight NR.

Shopper changed address after ship. Follow written change rules. Do not invent a free intercept. Carrier intercept fees are typed from the contract — we invent none.

Delivered to the label address, shopper says wrong place. That can be NR or CS — pull the scan first. Do not skip WISMO because “address was weird.”

What not to do

Do not paste a correction fee into an NR pack. Do not invent a universal correction-fee dollar chip. Do not fight NR with no delivered scan. Do not treat Amazon A-to-z address rules as DTC policy. Do not skip validating high-risk ship-tos before label print.

Procedure

  1. Name correction fee vs delivered-scan NR vs RTS.
  2. If never delivered — refund / reship; open rts-refused-vs-nr if RTS.
  3. If delivered — open wismo-tracking for the scan gate.
  4. Fix the address book; validate high-risk ship-tos before label.

Failure modes

  • Pasting a correction fee into an NR pack.
  • Fighting NR with no delivered scan on a bad address.
  • Inventing a universal correction-fee dollar chip.
  • Skipping ship-to validation before label print.

Worked example

None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.

Glossary

Address correction
Carrier fix or fee when the ship-to is incomplete or wrong. A correction invoice is not proof of delivery and not an NR representment pack.

FAQ

Carrier billed an address correction — fight as not-received?
No. That fee is a carrier invoice. Fix the address book. NR wants a delivered scan, not a correction charge.
Shopper typed a bad address and now claims not-received — fight?
Only if you have a delivered scan to the address they gave. Bad ship-to without delivery is refund / reship / RTS territory.
Is this the RTS page?
Related. [RTS / refused](/manuals/rts-refused-vs-nr) is the carrier outcome. This page is the bad address / correction fork before or beside that outcome.
