Lead caps can die while demand is still live

CalculatorLead-cap exhaustion · Calculator lives in the articleOpen

Affiliate lead / offer caps reset on a clock. Mid-day fills can burn the line while buyers are still coming. Type cap, fills so far, hours left, and $ per lead.

Pair: Lead-cap exhaustion on Traffic. Geo unit cap: geo-cap exhaustion. Unused offer units: offer cap leftover.

What you type

Daily cap — written lead / offer units for today on that CAKE offer (network sheet).

Fills so far — credited fills against that cap in the same day.

Hours left — hours until the cap day resets (your clock).

$ / lead — value you assign per fill (payout or contribution — typed, not a blog average).

Leftover room = cap − fills. Pace = fills ÷ elapsed hours (24 − hours left). Unmet units = max(0, pace × hours left − leftover). Leftover demand $ = unmet × $ / lead. Raise the cap or throttle sources when that $ is material — do not invent a fill curve.

What not to do

Do not invent a fill rate. Do not mix all-offer fills into one offer’s cap. Do not treat CRM still-selling as proof the lead cap has room. Do not ignore hours left when leftover looks fat at noon.

Related: Traffic, geo-cap exhaustion, offer cap leftover, affiliate cap vs CRM.

Procedure

  1. Type daily cap, fills so far, and hours left.
  2. Type $ per lead.
  3. Raise the cap or throttle when leftover demand $ is material.

Failure modes

  • Inventing a fill rate.
  • Mixing all-offer fills into one offer cap.
  • Treating CRM still-selling as proof the lead cap has room.

FAQ

Is this geo-cap exhaustion?
Sibling clock. [Geo-cap exhaustion](/manuals/maxweb-geo-cap-exhaustion) is a geo daily unit cap. This page prices unmet lead demand $ when a CAKE lead / offer cap dies mid-day.
Is this offer cap leftover?
Related leftover. [Offer cap leftover](/manuals/everflow-offer-cap-rollover) values unused cap. This page values demand that would keep filling after the cap is gone.
What fill rate should I invent?
None. Pace is fills ÷ elapsed hours from hours left. Type the network numbers.
