Capture over auth is not a partial capture
Ops add shipping or a CS upsell and capture more than the auth. That is not split-ship partial capture. It is an amount mismatch. Type auth $ and capture $. Match, leftover, or overcapture. We invent no overcapture allowance.

The three reads
Match — capture equals auth. Still confirm it posted.
Leftover — capture under auth. Unused hold may expire. Open the split-ship page if more boxes will ship.
Overcapture — capture above auth. Ask this gateway whether it silently fails, needs a new auth, or allows a written overage. Do not ship hoping the extra dollars clear.
What not to do
Do not treat shipping add-on as “partial capture.” Do not invent an overcapture percent. Do not mix FX presentment into the hold math — FX settlement. Do not re-auth late without reading expiry.
