CDRN — Customer Dispute Resolution Network
CDRN is Visa’s Customer Dispute Resolution Network, operated with Verifi. It is the Visa analog to Ethoca: an issuer notice that a dispute is coming, with a window to refund and stop the chargeback.
Pair: CDRN basics.
Fires before the Visa chargeback. Miss it, get the CB. Verifi publishes 72 hours for merchant credit — type yours on alert response clocks. Resolved alerts are usually excluded from the primary ratio — in writing from this acquirer. Cost shape: per-alert fee via Verifi or a reseller, plus the refund. No public Visa tariff for the alert.
Not every Visa issuer participates. Coverage ≠ “we bought Verifi.” Enroll Visa MIDs. A Mastercard account belongs on Ethoca / RDR, not here.
Do not confuse CDRN with Order Insight. OI answers “what is this charge?” CDRN is “they are filing — refund now.” Often sold as one Verifi stack; they are still two jobs. Side by side: inquiry vs alert.
Procedure
- Enroll Visa MIDs on CDRN.
- Do not confuse the OI payload job with the CDRN refund job.
- Work the alert window. Refund or cancel to stop the CB.
- Ask the acquirer in writing how resolved CDRN sits in the ratio.
Failure modes
- Confusing CDRN (alert) with Order Insight (inquiry data).
- Expecting every Visa issuer to participate.
- No written rule on whether a resolved alert counts in the Visa ratio.
Worked example
None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.
