Fallback volume is not free
Fallback volume is a share of total. Share % = fallback / (primary + fallback) × 100. Fee delta $ = fallback × fee delta per txn. Type primary, fallback, and fee delta $.
Pair: Fallback gateway share on Orchestration. Timeouts: workflow timeout cost. Hops: failover auth count.
What you type
Primary — orders / auths on the primary gateway in the window.
Fallback — orders / auths that landed on the fallback gateway.
Fee delta $ — extra fee $ per fallback txn vs primary (invoice — typed).
Share % = fallback / total × 100. Fee delta total = fallback × fee delta. Fix routing when share or fee delta is material — do not invent a share chip.
What not to do
Do not invent a share percent. Do not mix timeout voids into fallback volume. Do not treat hop count as fee delta. Do not ignore fee delta when share looks small.
