Authorize.net bill-to AVS refuse is not NMI address-match miss
Divide bill-to AVS refuses by auth attempts on one Authorize.net auth export. That ratio is AN AVS-fail %.
Pair: AVS-fail share on Payments. NMI twin: address-match miss. CVV twin: CVV-fail.
What you type
AVS fails — Authorize.net auth attempts that failed bill-to AVS in the export.
Auth attempts — Auth attempts in that same Authorize.net auth export.
AN AVS-fail % = AVS fails ÷ auth attempts × 100. Fat AN AVS-fail % usually means AVS rule heat or bad bill-to on that MID — retune that rule; never invent an AN AVS-fail chip.
What not to do
Skip inventing AN AVS-fail %. Skip dumping an NMI, Braintree, or Solidgate AVS file into Authorize.net fields. Skip folding CVV fails into AVS refuses. Skip blending MIDs when one seat owns the refuse pile.
Related: Payments, NMI address-match, Braintree AVS, CVV-fail.

FAQ
- Is this NMI AVS-fail share?
- Different gateway book. [AVS-fail share](/manuals/nmi-avs-fail-share) reads NMI address-match misses. Here you only divide Authorize.net bill-to AVS refuses by auth attempts.
- Is this Authorize.net CVV-fail share?
- CVV digit vs bill-to AVS. [CVV-fail share](/manuals/authorize-net-cvv-fail-share) is CVV refuses ÷ attempts. This page is AVS refuses ÷ auth attempts.
- What AN AVS-fail % should I invent?
- None. Pull AVS fails and auth attempts from the same Authorize.net auth export.
