Failed posts still cost CPA
Failed posts over sent make fail %. Fail $ = failed × CPA $. Type failed, sent, and CPA $.
Pair: Postback fail rate on Traffic. Dedupe: postback dedupe. Grain: CPU vs CPS.
What you type
Failed — postbacks that errored / never acknowledged in the window.
Sent — postbacks attempted in the same window.
CPA $ — dollars per conversion on that offer (typed).
Fail % = failed / sent × 100. Fail $ = failed × CPA. Fix the endpoint when fail % is material — do not invent a fail chip.
What not to do
Do not invent a fail percent. Do not mix dedupe extras into failed. Do not treat click ID collisions as fail $. Do not average every offer when one owns the hole.
