Spreedly token-route short is not SeamlessChex ACH under-approval

How to run thisPayments3 steps
CalculatorSpreedly partial-auth gap · Calculator lives in the articleOpen

Score ask $ − approved hold $ against ask $ on one Spreedly token-route window. That score is SP token-short %.

Pair: Partial-auth gap on Payments. SeamlessChex sibling: ACH under-approval. Later Spreedly door: partial-settle.

What you type

Requested auth $ — Cart dollars the Spreedly token route sent as the ask.

Partial auth $ — Dollars the issuer actually parked on that same token-route window.

SP token-short % = (ask − approved) ÷ ask × 100. A fat SP token-short % usually points at issuer or cart rules on that token route — chase that path; never invent an SP token-short chip.

What not to do

Never invent SP token-short %. Never paste a SeamlessChex or Solidgate partial-auth CSV into Spreedly ask / hold fields. Never treat a later settle short as a first token-route short. Never average every MID when one token route owns the short pile.

Related: Payments, SeamlessChex ACH under-approval, partial-settle, batch-reject.

Procedure

  1. Type ask $ and approved hold $.
  2. Read gap $ and SP token-short %.
  3. Chase issuer / cart rules when SP token-short % is material.

Failure modes

  • Inventing SP token-short %.
  • Dumping a SeamlessChex or Solidgate partial-auth file into Spreedly token-route fields.
  • Treating a later Spreedly settle short as a first token-route short.

Worked example

None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.

Glossary

FAQ

Is this SeamlessChex ACH under-approval?
No — that export lives under [SeamlessChex ACH under-approval](/manuals/seamless-partial-auth-gap). This door only reads Spreedly token-route ask $ vs approved hold $.
Is this Spreedly partial-settle?
Later grain. [Partial-settle gap](/manuals/spreedly-partial-settle-gap) divides partial-settled $ by captured $. Here the numerator is ask minus approved hold on the first auth.
What SP token-short % should I invent?
None. Copy ask $ and approved hold $ from the same Spreedly token-route window.
