Assemble the pack high-risk underwriters ask for

How to run thisMIDs4 steps
GuideHigh-risk underwriting pack · Calculator lives in the articleOpen

High-risk underwriting stalls when the pack is thin — not when the ISO “takes forever.” Entity docs, beneficial owners, personal guarantee status, matching bank statements, processing history, and an honest offer/MCC story are the pack. Hiding continuity or prior chargebacks is how approvals reverse later.

Pair: High-risk underwriting pack on MIDs. What PG liability means: personal guarantee. Why statements must match volume: bank statements for underwriting. MCC honesty stays on MCC on the MID. Fee lines after approval sit on Payments.

What belongs in the pack

Legal entity and EIN that match the application. Beneficial owners with current ID. Written PG status (who signs, or written “no PG”). Three to six months of business bank statements for that entity. Prior processor statements or PayFac exports (volume, chargebacks, refunds). Voided check or bank letter for settlement. Live offer URL plus cancel/fulfillment policy that matches how you bill. Projected monthly volume and average ticket that fit the deposits. CB / refund history and MATCH / TMF status if any. MCC that matches the offer — not grocery for autoship.

What not to do

Do not apply with a DBA folder and no entity. Do not assume an LLC erases personal guarantee. Do not invent volume the banks cannot show. Do not “fix” MCC or omit prior MATCH. Do not ask this page for how to launder history onto a clean entity.

Procedure

  1. Gather entity, owners, IDs, and PG status in writing.
  2. Pull 3–6 months of matching business bank statements.
  3. Export processing history and CB / refund mix.
  4. Prove the offer, cancel policy, MCC, and projected volume.

Failure modes

  • Applying with a DBA folder and no entity docs.
  • Assuming no personal guarantee because the LLC is “separate.”
  • Hiding continuity or prior CB history.
  • Bank statements that do not match the volume story.

Worked example

None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.

Glossary

Personal guarantee
Owner liability for merchant account losses and reserves. High-risk MIDs often require it. Not the same as a corporate-only signature.

FAQ

Does a personal guarantee apply to a high-risk merchant account?
Often yes. Owners commonly sign. Get “no PG” in writing if this underwriter skips it — do not assume the LLC blocks it.
Why do they want 3–6 months of bank statements?
To match deposits to the volume and ticket you typed. Orphan statements that do not match kill trust.
Is this Daniel’s private application extras list?
No. This is the public pack most high-risk underwriters ask for. Proprietary packet extras stay off this page.
