Braintree reserve held $ is not settlement held-batch share

How to run thisPayments3 steps
CalculatorBraintree reserve-hold share · Calculator lives in the articleOpen

On one Braintree float-park cut, put reserve held $ over settled $. That is BT reserve %.

Pair: Reserve-hold share on Payments. Batch twin: held-batch. Seamless twin: reserve-hold.

What you type

Reserve held $ — Cash Braintree still parks in the rolling reserve for the float-park cut.

Settled $ — Settled volume dollars tied to that same Braintree float-park cut.

BT reserve % = reserve held ÷ settled × 100. Fat BT reserve % means the rail eats float. Chase the MID release. Never invent a BT reserve chip.

What not to do

Do not invent BT reserve %. Do not paste a settlement-hold-share or SeamlessChex reserve file into Braintree fields. Do not count batch rejects as reserve dollars. Do not mix MIDs when one merchant owns the float pile.

Related: Payments, held-batch, SeamlessChex reserve-hold, settlement-hold days.

Procedure

  1. Type reserve held $ and settled $.
  2. Read BT reserve %.
  3. Chase reserve release when BT reserve % is material.

Failure modes

  • Inventing BT reserve %.
  • Dumping a Braintree settlement-hold-share or SeamlessChex reserve-hold file into Braintree reserve fields.
  • Folding Braintree batch-reject or auth-to-capture into reserve held $.

Worked example

None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.

FAQ

Is this Braintree settlement-hold share?
Batch count grain, not reserve dollars. [Settlement-hold share](/manuals/braintree-settlement-hold-share) is held settlements ÷ settlements. This page only puts reserve held $ over settled $.
Is this SeamlessChex or Argyle reserve-hold share?
Different processor ledger. [SeamlessChex reserve-hold share](/manuals/seamless-reserve-hold-share) and [Argyle reserve-hold share](/manuals/argyle-reserve-hold-share) read those desks. Here you only score Braintree reserve held $ ÷ settled $.
What BT reserve % should I invent?
None. Pull reserve held $ and settled $ from the same Braintree float-park cut.
