Same-day ACH fail is not a card decline
Same-day ACH fails burn the settle window. Fail % = fails ÷ attempts × 100. Type both.
Pair: Same-day ACH fail on Payments. Returns: ACH return vs card refund. Mix: ACH vs card approval.
What you type
Fails — same-day ACH payments that failed in the window (processor / gateway).
Attempts — same-day ACH payment attempts in that same window.
Fail % = fails ÷ attempts × 100. Fix bank data or cut same-day when fail % is fat — do not invent a fail chip.
What not to do
Do not invent fail %. Do not mix standard ACH returns into same-day fails. Do not treat card declines as ACH fails. Do not blend all ACH products when one lane owns the fails.
