Returns restock lag vs cover
Return units sit out of sellable for restock days while demand/day continues. Lag demand = restock days × demand/day. Cover gap = max(0, lag demand − return units). Type return units, restock days, and demand/day.
Pair: Returns restock lag on Stock. Sibling: lot recall hold. Dock: receiving is not sellable.
What you type
Return units — units in the restock / putaway path (not sellable yet).
Restock days — written or measured days until those units are sellable again.
Demand / day — units sold per day for that SKU in the same window.
Cover gap when lag demand exceeds return units coming back. Cut ads or raise cover when the gap is material — do not invent gap units.
What not to do
Do not invent a cover gap. Do not mix inbound ASN into return units. Do not treat pick accuracy $ as restock days. Do not average every SKU when one owns the hole.
