SMS STOP is not a subscription cancel
Attentive-class STOP ends SMS. It does not cancel the rebill token. CS hears “they texted STOP” and assumes MIT died. The gateway still bills. Type days since STOP and days since last MIT.
Pair: SMS STOP vs MIT on Subscriptions. MIT fork: pause vs skip vs cancel. Mail vs auth: dunning email vs auth.
What you type
Days since STOP — last STOP / opt-out on the SMS platform for this shopper.
Days since last MIT — last rebill or recycle auth on the profile (large number if none).
If MIT is newer than STOP, you billed after they opted out of texts. Kill MIT if they meant cancel — or keep billing only with a written cancel path that is not SMS silence.
What not to do
Do not treat STOP as cancel. Do not invent a cancel rate from STOP volume. Do not keep rebilling a profile CS already called cancelled. Do not skip the reason gate on a real cancel.

- Is this the update-card dunning email?
- No. [Dunning email vs auth](/manuals/dunning-email-vs-auth) is lifecycle mail vs a live try. This page is STOP vs MIT.

- No. STOP is TCPA / messaging. Cancel is the CRM token. Treat them as two jobs.
