Settle batch day is not order day
Orders book on order day. Cash lands on settle batch day. Cash gap = orders $ still tied for those lag days. Type orders $ and lag days.
Pair: Settlement batch lag on Payments. Stages: sold vs settled. Calendar hold: payout delay.
What you type
Orders $ — presentment / order dollars in the settle batch (same currency as the statement).
Lag days — settle batch day minus order day (typed from the batch, not a blog).
Cash gap = orders $ (tied until settle). $ per lag day = orders $ ÷ lag days. Fund working capital from the gap — do not invent a lag chip.
What not to do
Do not invent lag days. Do not mix reserve hold days into settle-batch lag without splitting the books. Do not treat sold as in-bank. Do not ignore FX when presentment ≠ settlement currency (FX settlement).
