Skips leave contribution on the table
A skip (or pause that drops a cycle) leaves contribution on the table. Lost $ = skips × AOV × margin %. Type skips, AOV $, and margin %.
Pair: Skip vs lost margin on Subscriptions. MIT words: pause vs skip vs cancel. Mix: swap vs pause.
What you type
Skips — completed skip / pause events that dropped a billing cycle in the window.
AOV $ — average order value of the skipped cycle (typed from CRM).
Margin % — contribution margin on that cycle (typed; not a blog average).
Lost $ = skips × AOV × (margin ÷ 100). Offer a keep path or accept the skip — do not invent a skip chip.
What not to do
Do not invent a skip rate. Do not mix cancels into skip count. Do not treat a product swap as a skip. Do not use front-end AOV when the skipped cycle is a rebill.
