ShipBob-class transfers move units between warehouses. Those units are not sellable until they arrive. Ads that treat the transfer as on-hand invent cover. Type units in transfer, transit days, and units / day at the receiving warehouse.

Pair: Transfer cover on Stock. Sellable split: ads ship-from cover. Dock: receiving is not sellable.

What you type

Units in transfer — sellable units on the transfer (not raw cases unless that is your sell unit).

Transit days — written days until the receiving warehouse can pick.

Units / day — sell-through at the receiving warehouse for this SKU.

Demand while waiting = units/day × transit days. Units at risk = that demand (transfer does not cover until arrival). Pipeline cover days once landed = units in transfer ÷ units/day. Do not invent a transit chip.

What not to do

Do not count in-transit as on-hand at either warehouse. Do not invent transit days. Do not use catalog average velocity for the receiving warehouse. Do not blend the sending warehouse into receiving cover.
