NutraScience moisture fail is not Eagle Labs moisture fail
Tally moisture misses against lots moisture-tested in one NutraScience QC cut. That tally is fail %.
Pair: Moisture-fail rate on Stock. Other CMO: Eagle moisture-fail. Bath sibling: dissolution-fail.
What you type
Moisture fails — Lots that missed NutraScience water activity / LOD limits in the cut.
Batches — Lots that ran moisture testing in that same NutraScience cut.
Fail % = moisture misses ÷ lots moisture-tested × 100. A fat fail % usually means dryer dwell or staging humidity — fix those holds; never invent a fail chip.
What not to do
Skip inventing fail %. Skip dumping Eagle or Vitaquest moisture logs into NutraScience fields. Skip folding dissolution misses into moisture tallies. Skip averaging every SKU when one lot owns the miss.
Related: Stock, Eagle moisture-fail, dissolution-fail, heavy-metal fail.
Procedure
- Type moisture fails and batches from the LOD log.
- Read fail %.
- Re-check dryers / humidity holds when fail % is material.
Failure modes
- Inventing fail %.
- Dumping Eagle Labs or Vitaquest CSV into NutraScience fields.
- Treating particle-size fails as moisture.
Worked example
None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.
