Particle-size fail is not blend uniformity
Particle-size fails ÷ batches make fail %. Type both.
Pair: Particle-size fail rate on Stock. Blend: blend-uniformity fail rate. Friability: friability-fail rate.
What you type
Particle-size fails — Batches that failed the particle-size sieve / laser spec in the NutraScience window.
Batches — Batches tested in that same window.
Fail % = particle-size fails ÷ batches × 100. Fix grinder / sieve specs when fail % is fat — do not invent a fail chip.
What not to do
Do not invent fail %. Do not fold blend-uniformity fails into particle-size counts. Do not treat friability drum fails as sieve fails. Do not average every SKU when one lot owns the hole.

Procedure

- Read fail %.
- Fix grinder / sieve specs when fail % is material.
Failure modes
- Inventing fail %.
- Folding blend-uniformity fails into particle-size counts.
- Treating friability drum fails as sieve fails.
Worked example
