Weight variation is not dissolution fail
Fill-weight fails ÷ batches make fail %. Type both.
Pair: Weight-variation fail rate on Stock. Assay: dissolution-fail rate. Blend: blend-uniformity fail rate.
What you type
Weight-variation fails — Batches the fill scale rejected on weight in the NutraScience run.
Batches — Batches put through that same weight check.
Fail % = weight-variation fails ÷ batches × 100. Fix hopper, tare, or target band when fail % is fat. Do not invent a fail chip.
What not to do
Do not invent fail %. Do not fold dissolution assay fails into fill rejects. Do not treat capsule shell scrap as weight fail. Do not blend SKUs when one fill lot owns the hole.

Procedure
- Type weight-variation fails and batches.
- Read fail %.
- Fix fill / scale when fail % is material.
Failure modes
- Inventing fail %.
- Mixing dissolution fails into weight counts.
- Treating encapsulation rejects as weight fails.
Worked example
None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.

- Different lab door. [Dissolution-fail rate](/manuals/nutrascience-dissolution-fail-rate) is release assay. This page is fill-weight fails ÷ batches.
- Is this encapsulation reject rate?
- Related plant waste. [Encapsulation reject rate](/manuals/nutrascience-encapsulation-reject-rate) is shell rejects. This page is weight-variation fail rate.
- What fail % should I invent?
- None. Type weight-variation fails and batches from the same NutraScience fill run.
