Vitaquest particle-size fail is not Eagle Labs particle-size fail
Count particle-size fails against lots tested in one Vitaquest QC cut. That count is fail %.
Pair: Particle-size fail rate on Stock. Other CMO: Eagle Labs particle-size. Coat twin: coating-reject.
What you type
Particle-size fails — Lots that missed Vitaquest sieve / laser particle-size limits in the cut.
Batches — Lots that ran particle-size testing in that same Vitaquest cut.
Fail % = particle-size fails ÷ lots tested × 100. When fail % runs hot, chase grinder dwell or sieve wear — never invent a fail chip.
What not to do
Skip inventing fail %. Skip dumping an Eagle or NutraScience sieve log into Vitaquest fields. Skip folding coat-pan scrap into particle-size fails. Skip averaging every SKU when one lot owns the miss.
Related: Stock, Eagle Labs particle-size, NutraScience particle-size, coating-reject.
Procedure
- Type particle-size fails and batches.
- Read fail %.
- Chase grinder dwell / sieve wear when fail % is material.
Failure modes
- Inventing fail %.
- Dumping an Eagle or NutraScience sieve log into Vitaquest fields.
- Folding coat-pan scrap into particle-size fails.
Worked example
None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.

- Is this Vitaquest coating-reject rate?
- Sibling Vitaquest plant door. [Coating-reject rate](/manuals/vitaquest-coating-reject-rate) is coat-pan scrap. This page is particle-size sieve / laser fails.
- What fail % should I invent?
- None. Count particle-size fails and lots tested from the same Vitaquest QC cut.
