Cycle count is not on-hand truth
A cycle count can disagree with system on-hand. Variance % = variance units ÷ on-hand × 100. Type both.
Pair: Cycle count variance on Stock. Inbound: ASN variance. Picks: pick accuracy cost.
What you type
Variance units — absolute unit gap between cycle count and system on-hand in the window.
On-hand — system on-hand units for those SKUs in the same window.
Variance % = variance units ÷ on-hand × 100. Recount or freeze ship when variance % is fat — do not invent a variance chip.
What not to do
Do not invent variance %. Do not mix ASN inbound short into cycle-count variance. Do not treat damaged pull-out as cycle variance without a rule. Do not average every SKU when one owns the hole.

Procedure

- Read variance %.
- Recount or freeze ship when variance % is material.
Failure modes
- Inventing variance %.
- Mixing ASN inbound short into cycle-count variance.

- What variance % should I invent?
- None. Type absolute variance units and on-hand from the same cycle-count window.
