CalculatorShipMonk late-ship share · Calculator lives in the articleOpen

On one ShipMonk warehouse cut, SM late-order % is the share of orders that cleared after the SLA day. Late exits count. Every order that left that cut sits in the denominator.

Pair: Late-ship share on Stock. Carton twin: on-time ship miss. Other 3PL: ShipBob late-ship.

What you type

Late ships — ShipMonk orders that cleared after the SLA day in the warehouse cut.

Orders shipped — Every ShipMonk order that left that same warehouse cut.

SM late-order % = late exits ÷ orders that left × 100. A fat SM late-order % usually means pick wave or dock cut sits too late — move the wave. Never invent an SM late-order chip.

What not to do

Do not invent SM late-order %. Do not drop a carton-miss or ShipBob late-ship CSV into ShipMonk fields. Do not treat backorders or short packs as late exits. Do not mix warehouses when one building owns the delay.

Related: Stock, on-time ship miss, ShipBob late-ship, short-ship.

Procedure

  1. Type late ships and orders shipped.
  2. Read SM late-order %.
  3. Chase pick/pack clocks when SM late-order % is material.

Failure modes

  • Inventing SM late-order %.
  • Dumping a ShipMonk on-time-ship-miss or ShipBob late-ship file into these fields.
  • Counting backorders or short-ships as late orders.

Worked example

None on this page yet. When one lands it will be a real case: what broke, the number, and what changed. Not a composite.

FAQ

Is this ShipMonk on-time ship miss?
Carton grain vs order grain. [On-time ship miss](/manuals/shipmonk-on-time-ship-miss) is late cartons ÷ cartons. This page is late order exits ÷ orders that left.
Is this ShipBob late-ship share?
Different 3PL ledger. [ShipBob late-ship](/manuals/shipbob-late-ship-share) reads ShipBob orders. Here both counts stay on the ShipMonk warehouse.
What SM late-order % should I invent?
None. Take late order exits and orders that left from one ShipMonk warehouse cut.
