ShipMonk short-ship is not mispick
SM short-ship % is under-filled carts ÷ carts that left — typed from one ShipMonk fill-gap desk.
Pair: Short-ship rate on Stock. Mispick twin: mispick rate. ShipBob twin: short-ship rate.
What you type
Short-ships — ShipMonk carts that left the fill-gap desk missing one or more ordered line units.
Orders shipped — Every ShipMonk cart that left on that same fill-gap desk.
SM short-ship % = short-ships ÷ orders shipped × 100. When SM short-ship % spikes, chase cover or pick completeness on that SKU family — never invent an SM short-ship chip.
What not to do
Do not invent SM short-ship %. Do not paste a mispick or ShipBob short-ship export into ShipMonk fields. Do not count damage claims or rate-shop skips as short-ships. Do not blend warehouses when one site owns the under-fill pile.
Related: Stock, mispick rate, ShipBob short-ship, backorder rate.

- Is this ShipBob short-ship rate?
- Sibling 3PL ledger. [ShipBob short-ship rate](/manuals/shipbob-short-ship-rate) reads ShipBob. Here you only score ShipMonk short-ships ÷ orders shipped.
- What SM short-ship % should I invent?
- None. Read short-ships and orders shipped from the same ShipMonk fill-gap desk.
